Instructor Pool - Fabrication/Welding Technology Applicant Notification: Department Information Our Business, Technology, and Trades Department is seeking to expand its pool of part-time faculty to teach Fabrication and Welding Technology. Beyond the required education and experience instructors must have a passion for what they teach and have teaching styles that support student success. Instructors are responsible for following Division and College procedures in support of teaching and learning. This is an application pool posting for 2026-2027. The assigned location for this position is at the Lane Community College's main campus located in Eugene, Oregon. The Part-time Faculty benefits package includes a generous contribution toward medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance Required Education: - Formal training in Fabrication and Welding including course work, on-the-job training and/or higher education. - One (1) year of industrial experience in fabrication and welding. OR - One (1) year of formal training and experience in operation, maintenance, and manual skills associated with wire drive welding. See our FAQs for more detail. - Must work and reside in the state of Oregon at the time their work is being performed. Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Fabrication/Welding. Possess industry credentials i.e. American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welder, CWI (Certified Welding Inspector), NCCER, SENSE, API, and/or ASME. - Prior teaching or industrial training experience. - Fabrication/Welding management experience. - Proficiency with the following specific welding processes: FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, OAC. - Proficiency in teaching at the community college level. - Experience with distance education/web teaching modalities is desirable. Faculty are professional educators with the primary responsibility of providing a quality learning experience for all Lane Community College students. The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of the teacher of record and facilitator of learning. Essential Functions: Plan, write, and administer Fabrication and Welding curricula to include instruction in varied learning environments, such as in-person, online, remote, and hybrid formats. Blueprint reading. Operation, maintenance, and manual skills associated with SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, PAC, and OAC equipment. Support student learning through activities that include: Exhibit compliance with College policies and procedures, accountability for leave time, timesheet completion, release time, textbook ordering and related functions. Sustain currency in discipline and innovation in teaching. Collegial participation in the faculty performance evaluation process. Maintain and post office hours in alignment with College expectations. Maintain physical campus presence
