As certified state law enforcement officers, our Special Agents have investigative and arrest powers both on and off railroad property, with primary jurisdiction over railroad crimes and interstate authority under federal law. Accountabilities Crime Reduction and Enforcement: Participate in crime reduction enforcement operations to ensure customers' cargo moves intact and without unnecessary delay, supporting operational efficiency. Utilize Surveillance and Analytics: Leverage advanced surveillance technologies and data analytics to proactively identify and mitigate security threats, ensuring the safety of rail operations. Community and Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with community stakeholders to promote safety awareness and educational initiatives related to railroad safety, fostering public trust and collaboration. Implement Security Measures: Implement Union Pacific's Homeland Security Plan countermeasures as threat levels change, maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Security and Vulnerability Audits: Participate in "red team" audits on critical targets to test vulnerabilities and validate the effectiveness of security measures, ensuring robust defense mechanisms.
