Sanipac, a Waste Connections company in Eugene, OR has an immediate position open for a Union Diesel Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance on our fleet of 125 garbage trucks. Full-Time Schedule - 4/10s Schedule: M-F, 1:30 PM to 12:00AM - Occasional Overtime Required. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Candidates for employment must meet position requirements and successfully pass post offer employment examinations including: - Background Check - MVR Check(Clean driving record) - Drug screen RESPONSIBILITIES: - Perform maintenance and repairs on our fleet of 125 garbage trucks. - Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs. - Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment. - Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times. - Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. - Performs diagnostics and repairs on engine, aftertreatment, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems (12V and CAN) - Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards. - Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. - Effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks. REQUIREMENTS: - Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record (Required) - 3+year experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair - Provide personal tools. - Class B CDL OR the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment. - Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair. - Read and comprehend service and technical information in English. ***If applying through Indeed or other 3rd party website; To be considered for any of our current openings you must complete an application directly through our website:www.wasteconnections.com WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: - Extensive physical activity.
