We are recruiting for Deputy District Attorney I, II, and III positions and invite qualified candidates at various stages of their legal careers to apply. As a Deputy District Attorney, you will represent the people of the State of Oregon in criminal proceedings, work closely with victims, law enforcement agencies, and community partners, and play an essential role in promoting public safety and accountability. Attorneys in this role must exercise sound judgment, uphold the highest ethical standards, and balance compassion with a commitment to enforcing the law fairly and impartially. Guided by our mission'to faithfully prosecute the laws of the State of Oregon without favor or prejudice in order to promote safety, accountability, and compassion for the betterment of the community, victims, and, where appropriate, the criminally accused and their families'our office strives to deliver justice with integrity, professionalism, and respect for all. Placement within the series will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, and demonstrated competencies. About the Division The mission of the Lane County District Attorney's Office: To faithfully prosecute the laws of the State of Oregon without favor or prejudice in order to promote safety, accountability and compassion for the betterment of the community, victims and - where appropriate - the criminally accused and their families. Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm *This is a Prosecuting Attorney's represented position* QUALIFICATIONS Training: - A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. Licensing Requirements: - Member of the Oregon State Bar at time of appointment. - Possession of a valid Oregon Driver's License. - Supervised Practice Portfolio Examination (SPPE) will not be considered for hire. Special Requirements: - Oregon driver license by time of appointment. - This position is subject to a full criminal history background check. - CV or resume. - Cover letter. - Three professional references.
