Source linkJob Title: Welder & Fabricator Job Description Join our team as a Welder & Fabricator, where you will be responsible for fabricating whole components and machinery using blueprints. This role involves problem-solving and offers a great deal of variety in tasks. Responsibilities Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete products according to blueprints and layout specifications. Study blueprints and Bill of Materials (BOM) to determine material requirements and task sequences. Verify conformance of materials to specifications using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes. Align and fit parts according to specifications, marking work-piece bending and cutting lines. Move work-pieces into position manually or using forklifts or overhead cranes. Setup and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses. Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt parts to obtain required configurations. Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to prevent overheating or distortion of materials. Examine completed work pieces for defects to ensure conformance with specifications. Operate cranes and understand safety protocols associated with crane operation. Essential Skills MIG welding experience required. Knowledge of physical properties and welding characteristics of various metals. Ability to read and interpret assembly blueprints. 2-5+ years of experience in steel fabrication/welding or demonstrated intermediate/advanced level experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Certification or degree in welding and/or fabrication is a plus. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work most of the day on your feet.
