Source linkOur Specialized Support Services Department is seeking to hire a part-time, as needed, Developmental Disabilities Specialist 1. Application Information: This position works on an as-needed basis and is a temporary assignment based on student, college, and division needs. Provide all documents as requested. Hourly Wage Range: $17.76 - $26.04 (Classified Hourly Pay Grade 6) Salary/Compensation Statement: Our application is used to determine your initial salary placement for selected candidates. All employment and education history will be considered. Part-Time Benefits may be available for qualified employees. Working Schedule: Part-Time, as needed position; variable work hours and locations based on department needs; day time and evening hours may be required. Schedule may vary with hours increasing up to 40 hours a week during peak periods, up to 1039 hours in a 12-month period. Required Qualifications High school graduation or equivalent. Two (2) years of experience working with individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities in a training facility, sheltered workshop, employment, or group home setting or with children as a teacher's assistant or with patients in a psychiatric facility. A valid Oregon driver's license. Current first aid/CPR card. Conditions of Employment: Successful applicants are required to complete a criminal background check. Infractions do not necessarily disqualify a candidate, and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. See our FAQs for more detail. Must work and reside in the state of Oregon at the time their work is being performed. Preferred Qualifications Associate's Degree with coursework in Human Services, Special Education, or any other Social Science focus. Experience working with persons with developmental disabilities. Position Purpose: This hourly, time sheet assignment is primarily responsible for vocational and social skills training and supervision support of small groups of adults with developmental disabilities in a variety of work settings or learning environments. This position will not be responsible for performing the full scope of duties outlined in the Developmental Disabilities 1 job classification.
