Department Summary The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) is the intellectual hub of the University of Oregon, serving nearly two-thirds of all students. Home to more than 800 faculty across 50+ departments and programs in the humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences, CAS is a dynamic and interdisciplinary academic community. Within the College of Arts and Sciences, Psychology is one of the largest departments supporting significant instructional and research activities in a wide range of fields within the discipline. Department faculty group themselves into four major areas: Clinical, Cognitive/Systems Neuroscience, Developmental, and Social-Personality. Our Clinical doctoral program has been continuously accredited by the American Psychological Association since 1958, is a member of the Academy of Psychological Clinical Science and has been accredited by the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System since 2013. Our department values interdisciplinary collaboration and embraces the values of open and reproducible science. The Department features a Diversity Science emphasis area, which includes faculty across the department's four major areas, and significant involvement with the Ballmer Institute for Children's Behavioral Health. In addition, our faculty engage in productive research collaborations with faculty in other UO departments as well, including Anthropology, Architecture, Biology, Data Science, Economics, Education, Human Physiology, Philosophy, and Physics. Position Summary The Department of Psychology at the University of Oregon seeks to establish a pool of qualified candidates interested in Pro Tem Instructor positions. Depending on departmental needs, Pro Tem Instructors may teach undergraduate courses in areas such as introductory psychology, research methods, cognition, thinking, developmental psychology, clinical psychology, or clinical practica (Oregon psychology licensure required). Positions are limited duration appointments potentially renewable for up to a total of three years, based on programmatic need, funding, and performance. Screening of applications will take place as positions become available and continue until positions are filled. Minimum Requirements - Master's degree in Psychology or closely related field.
