Eugene offers free safety walk-throughs for stalking concerns
The police Community Engagement Team can assess a home or business and suggest changes to lighting, landscaping, cameras and access points.
People in Eugene who are worried about stalking or unwanted access can ask the police Community Engagement Team for a safety assessment at a home or business.
The service uses Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design: a specialist looks at possible entry points, hiding places, landscaping, lighting and cameras, then suggests ways to reduce risk. The city’s standing page also assigns specialists by police beat and lists direct contact information.
This is a prevention service, not an emergency response. Call 911 for immediate danger. Current is intentionally omitting the individual victim, suspect and case details that prompted the fresh public reminder.
