Property-value appeals board needs at least one more member
Lane County is recruiting residents with real-estate, appraisal or finance experience for a paid winter hearing role.
Lane County is accepting applications through Friday, Sept. 25, for at least one seat on the Property Value Appeals Board. The board hears taxpayers' evidence that a property's assessed value is wrong; it does not decide whether the tax bill itself feels too high.
Applicants must live in Lane County, should have experience or interest in real-estate appraisal, finance or real estate, and cannot work for the county or another local taxing district. KVAL reports a $15-an-hour stipend, paid training and a workload that can reach 40 hours a week between Feb. 1 and April 15, 2027.
The county's standing appeals page confirms what the board does but did not display the vacancy notice during this run. Prospective applicants should confirm the current opening and submission instructions with Lane County before sending material.
