Lane County's auction opens today with electronic bids only
Vehicles can be inspected on North Delta Highway, but nobody gets a test drive and every winning purchase is final.
Lane County's public fleet auction opened at 7 a.m. Thursday and closes at noon Saturday. The sale includes more than 60 vehicles and pieces of equipment from the county and partner public agencies, with cars, trucks, SUVs, buses, trailers and heavy equipment in the mix.
All bids are electronic. People can inspect most items outside the Fleet Services building at 3040 N. Delta Highway, but vehicles cannot be test-driven and some equipment may remain at third-party sites. The live auction page lists Thursday and Friday viewing from 7 a.m.; the county's September 17 news release says 8 a.m. Anyone planning an early visit should call first. New bidders need an online account with a working email address.
Everything is sold as-is and all sales are final. The county says known and reported problems should appear in each listing. In-person credit and debit payments carry a 3% transaction fee; online card payments through the winning notice do not.
