McKenzie Pass reaches its winter closing day
The Highway 242 notice applies to bicycles, too.
The scenic Highway 242 route is scheduled to close for winter on Thursday, November 5. ODOT's dated notice and KLCC's November 4 report agree on the day; neither supplies a closing hour.
The closure applies to bicycles as well as motor vehicles. ODOT says gates are locked when the road is closed and the highway is not maintained through winter.
Check TripCheck before setting out rather than treating this morning's notice as proof the gate is still open.
