About this event
☠️🌿 **POISONOUS PLANT WALK** 🌿☠️ **October 24, 25 & 31 | 9 AM–5 PM** Parker Learning Gardens • Coburg, Oregon How well do you know the plants you should *not* eat? Take a self-guided autumn walk down our **Southern Hedgerow Trail**, an old apple orchard row that follows the wild, overgrown hedgerow along the southern edge of our farm. Hedgerows aren't just beautiful boundaries—they provide wildlife habitat, increase biodiversity and help create a living buffer between our organic educational farm and neighboring agricultural land. It's a wonderfully wild place to explore the fascinating world of poisonous plants. Along the trail, discover poisonous plants through **photographs and educational signs** while learning about identification, ecology, history, folklore, traditional uses, symptoms of poisoning and the sometimes surprisingly thin line between medicine and poison. 🌿 Self-guided — explore at your own pace ☠️ Educational photos + informational signs 🍎 Walk an old apple orchard row & living hedgerow 🍂 Outdoor autumn farm experience 👨👩👧👦 All ages welcome 📚 GREAT for homeschool families & small learning groups ⏰ Arrive anytime during your registered event day between 9 AM–5 PM **IMPORTANT:** No poisonous plants will be brought in or displayed as part of the walk. You'll be learning ABOUT poisonous plants through photographs and educational materials—not walking through a collection of hazardous plants. 🎟 **ADMISSION** $5 per person $15 per family $35 for organized groups of 5–10 **Advance registration is required.** Registration opening soon! The trail begins near the Farmstand event parking area and travels down the Southern Hedgerow Trail before returning along the same trail. This is a real farm trail, not a paved botanical garden! Expect uneven ground, leaves, possible mud and changing October weather. Wear sturdy shoes and dress for the conditions. 🚗 **PARKING** Follow event parking signs near the Farmstand. Please **do not park anyone in.** Parking is intended to flow in a loop for entry and exit. On busier days, parking may extend farther into the field than the parking signs. The field can become **very bumpy farther out**, so drive slowly and use caution. 💚 **YOUR VISIT MAKES A DIFFERENCE** Every registration supports **Parker Learning Gardens, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit**, and helps us continue providing outdoor education and hands-on learning experiences for youth and families. Community support through events like this is especially meaningful as we head into our quieter winter season. Come learn something wild, spend an autumn day outdoors and help sustain a small local nonprofit at the same time. 🌙 **AND AFTER DARK...** On the same three dates, the farm transforms. ☠️ Poisonous Plant Walk: **9 AM–5 PM** 🎋 Haunted Bamboo Forest Maze: **7–10 PM** The farm closes between events so we can transition from our daytime plant walk to the nighttime maze. **Learn what's deadly by daylight. Find out what's hiding after dark.**
