Hosted / listed by University of Oregon CalendarVerified listing

About this event

Step into the enchanting world of François Couperin (1668–1733), where music becomes painting and the harpsichord tells stories! In this solo recital, Dr. Joyce Wei-Jo Chen brings to life the First and Second Ordres from Couperin’s Pièces de clavecin, Livre I (1713), featuring musical portraits of intriguing characters, woodland spirits, buzzing bees, and delicate flowers. Join us on Tuesday, November 3, at 7:30 p.m. in Berwick Hall at the University of Oregon. Admission is free! It’s Election Night! Cast your vote, then escape into Couperin’s enchanted garden. The results can wait—beautiful music cannot!
