For someone trying to keep housing or find longer-term housing.
Urgent safety: Fleeing violence: call Hope & Safety Alliance, 541-485-6513, 24 hours, using a safe phone. Ask about confidential safety and housing help.
- If you have an eviction, court, or shutoff notice, keep it and note every deadline. Seek legal help promptly through OregonLawHelp.org. Asking for rent assistance does not pause a deadline or a court case.
- For rent or utility help, call 211 and ask which programs are accepting requests in your ZIP code. Have the lease, notice, amount owed, household income, and landlord/utility contact available if you have them. Ask each program about eligibility and documents.
- For coordinated entry, contact an access point on lanehelp.com/handouts/front-door-assessment. White Bird NEST: 323 E 12th Ave, 541-342-1295; no fee published, for people experiencing homelessness in Eugene–Springfield. Provider-published walk-ins: Tue/Thu 1–4 PM; Wed 9:30–11:30 AM. Allow 45–60 minutes; confirm before traveling.
- Ask whether the program is a referral, waitlist, subsidy, or actual available rental. Ask about application fees, deposits, income limits, household size, accessibility, and how to update contact details. An assessment does not guarantee housing.
If you cannot get help: If funding or a list is closed, ask when to check again and about other providers. If you need somewhere tonight, use lanehelp.com/handouts/shelter. CCS utility help is subject to eligibility and funding: 541-345-3628.
