For someone who needs a safe place to sleep tonight. A housing assessment is a separate step.

Urgent safety: Immediate danger: 911. Fleeing domestic or sexual violence: call Hope & Safety Alliance, 541-485-6513, 24 hours, for confidential safety and shelter options. Do not travel to a confidential shelter without intake instructions.

What to do first

  1. Call the shelter intake before traveling. State the number and ages of people, pets, mobility needs, and whether you need a place tonight. Ask about a bed, check-in cutoff, fees, ID, belongings, and what to do if full.
  2. Adults experiencing homelessness: Eugene Service Station, 450 Hwy 99 N, 541-461-8688, daily 8:30 AM–5 PM. Ask staff how to enroll in overnight shelter or safe parking. This is a day center; arriving does not reserve an overnight space.
  3. Families experiencing homelessness with children under 18: First Place Family Center at the Annex, 4060 W Amazon Dr, 541-342-7728. Its pages disagree on opening: 9 AM on the center page, 8 AM on the Annex page; both close at 5 PM daily. Call for the opening time, intake and availability. Youth ages 16–24 can ask New Roads, 941 W 7th Ave, 541-686-4310, about shelter referrals; the drop-in center is not an overnight bed.
  4. For longer-term housing, use lanehelp.com/handouts/front-door-assessment. Ask the assessor about documents and how to stay reachable. Coordinated entry does not supply an immediate shelter bed or guarantee housing.

If you cannot get help: If full, ask intake about the next opening, a waiting list, another shelter, and a safe day center. Weather shelters open only when activated; confirm the current location and night before traveling. Need another option? Call 211 or 866-698-6155, Monday–Friday 8 AM–6 PM Pacific.
