Adopt a dog, cat or other pet from Greenhill

Browse pets online or in person, fill out an adoption application at the shelter, and finish the paperwork. Applications are accepted in person only.

  1. View available petsLook at adoptable pets on the Greenhill website or visit the shelter in person.
  2. Meet your match at the shelterAn adoption counselor introduces you to available pets. You can fill out a printable application ahead of time, but bring it in person.
  3. Bring your dog for a meet and greetNeeded if you have a dog at home, so staff can run a dog-to-dog introduction. If you cannot bring it, call the shelter.
  4. Complete the adoption paperworkPlan for about 30 minutes. Bring a valid photo ID.

  • Resident dog, if adopting a dog
  • Carrier for a cat or small animal
  • Collar and leash for a dog
Dog adopters in Eugene or unincorporated Lane County must also buy a dog license at adoption.
