Sell your own eggs directly to Oregon customers

Oregon producers selling and delivering their own eggs directly to consumers may be exempt from licensing, but labeling is required.

Steps

3 steps
  1. Confirm the licensing exemptionThe exemption does not cover selling eggs you did not produce or selling to wholesale accounts such as restaurants or retailers; those activities require an egg-handler license.
  2. Review all carton labeling requirementsThe official egg-sales guide specifies producer identity, egg identity, net contents, safe-handling instructions and required statements. Follow the full labeling requirements before selling.
  3. Keep sale eggs refrigeratedKeep eggs at or below 45°F promptly after gathering, refrigerated during transportation, and at or below 45°F at the point of sale. Display eggs kept warmer cannot be sold.
