Neighbors Feeding Neighbors is an informal, community‑driven group that provides hot meals, pantry bags, water, clothing, and hygiene items to people staying in and around Washington–Jefferson Park. They operate outside of the traditional nonprofit system, relying on volunteer cooks, donated supplies, and direct outreach to meet immediate needs. Their model centers on showing up where people already are, reducing transportation barriers and offering support during evening hours when most agencies are closed. Because they are not a formal organization, their schedule shifts week to week, but they maintain a consistent presence at WJ Park and are widely known among unhoused residents. Their work helps stabilize individuals who may be disconnected from services, offering a predictable point of contact and a low‑barrier source of food and basic care.
