OCCU signs nonbinding deal to sell headquarters property to Costco
The credit union says the Eugene sale is not final and that it expects to remain during a multi-year transition.
OCCU has signed a nonbinding letter of intent to sell its Eugene headquarters property to Costco, the credit union announced through the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce's Bottom Line. A completed sale has not been announced.
OCCU says it currently uses about 40% of the 53,000-square-foot building on roughly 10 acres, reflecting a workforce that now works largely remotely. The credit union expects to remain in the building during a multi-year transition.
Under the proposal, Costco could receive early access to designated parts of the property for parking while longer-term plans move through review. OCCU also said future traffic and access improvements may be possible. Those are prospective details attached to a nonbinding agreement, not approved construction.
For now, members should expect ordinary service. The announcement concerns the headquarters property, not a closure of OCCU's branches or accounts.
