A $580,000 cap increase could cover pending septic grants
Lane County commissioners will consider raising the Holiday Farm Fire agreement maximum to $4.08 million after pending applications outgrew the current ceiling.
A Lane County program for Holiday Farm Fire properties has distributed nearly $2.4 million for septic work, and pending applications are expected to push past the current funding agreement. On Tuesday, commissioners will consider raising the maximum in the county's agreement with EWEB from $3.5 million to $4.08 million.
That is a $580,000 increase in the agreement cap, not a new $4.08 million pot of money landing all at once. EWEB's live program page lists grants of up to $35,000 for qualifying properties in the fire footprint and says supported work must be complete by Sept. 1. At this point, the practical importance is strongest for applications already moving through the pipeline.
The item sits on the Aug. 25 consent calendar. Until commissioners act, the larger ceiling is proposed rather than approved.
Field notes
What changed: Lane County posted a proposed $580,000 increase to the maximum EWEB agreement supporting Holiday Farm Fire septic grants.
Why it matters: The current agreement ceiling may not cover pending qualifying applications from fire-affected properties.
Who may be affected: Holiday Farm Fire property owners with qualifying damaged or failing septic systems, especially applicants already in process.
