Delta Highway's next shape is open for comment
The $25.5 million project would add a southbound lane, raise and widen the Beltline bridge and bring major closures during construction from 2027 through 2029.
Delta Highway's next reconstruction is still years from completion, but the shape of it is visible now. ODOT's online open house describes a $25.5 million project from Green Acres Road to Goodpasture Island Road, with construction planned from 2027 through 2029.
The plan adds a southbound lane, widens and raises the bridge over Beltline, creates a second left-turn lane on the westbound Beltline off-ramp and changes signals. It also comes with the less photogenic half of a road project: future full or weekend closures and detours. Exact closure dates are not set.
People who use north Eugene's busiest interchange can review the current design and send questions or comments through ODOT now. This is advance notice, not a claim that cones arrive Monday.
Field notes
What changed: ODOT published an online open house with concrete design and closure details for the 2027-29 Delta Highway project.
Why it matters: The project will change a heavily used north Eugene corridor and eventually require major closures and detours.
Who may be affected: Drivers, bus riders, freight users, nearby businesses and residents using Delta Highway and the Beltline interchange.
