Second Chance renter classes begin Wednesday, but joining starts with the form
St. Vincent de Paul's donation-based 11-class series covers tenant rights, finances, home care and conflict resolution for people facing housing barriers.
The fall Second Chance Renters Education session is scheduled to begin Wednesday, Sept. 2. St. Vincent de Paul describes it as an 11-class series for people working through eviction history, homelessness or other barriers to stable housing.
Classes cover tenant rights, household finances, energy use, home maintenance and conflict resolution. The program is donation-based. Graduates who complete the required work receive a reference letter and a certificate that the nonprofit says is recognized by Lane County landlords and property managers.
The program page says enrollment is open year-round and begins with an online form. It also says students are contacted two weeks before each session with the term schedule, so a form submitted now should not be treated as a guaranteed place in Wednesday's cohort.
