Cottage Grove gets a two-hour compost clinic Saturday
The free hands-on workshop runs 10 a.m.–noon Sept. 5 behind Community Sharing and covers materials, methods and the bins that make the pile behave.
Cottage Grove gets two hours of practical compost instruction Saturday, Sept. 5, at the Community Sharing Garden. The free session runs from 10 a.m. to noon behind the Community Sharing building at 1440 Birch Ave.
OSU Extension says the workshop is for beginners through experienced composters. It covers how composting works, which materials belong in the pile, different methods and the tradeoffs among bin types.
The advance deadline for disability-related accommodation requests was Aug. 29. Anyone making a special trip should reopen the event listing before leaving, because an active page is not a promise that weather or capacity cannot change.
Field notes
What changed: The Cottage Grove compost workshop is scheduled for this Saturday morning.
Why it matters: It brings free, hands-on waste-reduction instruction to South Lane County rather than requiring a trip into Eugene.
