Lane County opened 35 Halloween weddings, costumes included
The clerk's office is booking 30-minute 'scaremony' slots from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Oct. 31; couples need the license process finished at least three days earlier.
Lane County has opened 35 Halloween wedding slots, and the clerk's office plans to officiate in costume. Couples may dress up too.
The 30-minute appointments run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at the County Clerk's Office in Eugene. Slots are first come, first served.
The paperwork remains entirely mortal. Couples must complete the online marriage-license application and visit the clerk's office at least three days before the ceremony. The license costs $60 and the county ceremony costs $117, for $177 before anyone buys a cape.
