Eugene's after-school clubhouse starts Sept. 9—with no ride home
The Coleman Clubhouse program serves grades 1–12 four afternoons a week, charges $50 a month for younger children and $10 for teens, and requires pickup.
The Coleman Clubhouse begins its 2026–27 after-school program Sept. 9, with one detail worth putting near the top: families need a plan for getting children home.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Emerald Valley lists service for students in grades 1–12. Hours are 2:30–6:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, with 1:30–5:30 p.m. on early-release Wednesdays. The annual membership fee is $50 per child; monthly fees are $50 for grades 1–5 and $10 for grades 6–12.
A parent or guardian and the student must attend orientation before the child can attend. Members receive an afternoon snack or hot supper, but the club does not provide transportation home. Capacity can also turn registration into a waiting-list spot rather than immediate placement.
Field notes
What changed: The Eugene clubhouse's school-year service begins Sept. 9.
Why it matters: The program adds structured after-school time and meals, but fees, orientation, capacity and pickup requirements shape whether it works for a family.
