If ODHS mailed you a missing-information notice, Monday is the deadline
About 11,000 Oregon SNAP or TANF recipients were asked for updated income records; unanswered notices can reduce or close October benefits.
Monday, September 28, is the response deadline for a specific group of SNAP and TANF recipients who received a Missing Information notice from the Oregon Department of Human Services. The agency began mailing the notices September 16 and expects about 11,000 people to receive one.
The notice means ODHS found a difference between income reported to the state and information in The Work Number employment database. It does not automatically mean benefits will end. An eligibility worker needs the requested records to review the case. Without a response, October SNAP or TANF benefits may be reduced or the case may close on the date printed in the notice.
People should answer even if they believe the notice is wrong. ODHS says there is no need to contact an employer: send the information the notice requests. The ONE Customer Service Center is 800-699-9075. A late response may still be worth making because a worker may be able to help.
Field notes
What changed: A Monday deadline is arriving for roughly 11,000 Oregonians selected for an ODHS income-information check.
Why it matters: Failing to answer can change or close October food and cash benefits, while receiving the notice alone does not determine eligibility.
Who may be affected: SNAP or TANF recipients who received an ODHS Missing Information notice in September.
