Blue and Gold logging appeal is dropped
New reporting separates BLM’s completed dismissal from a related request by timber groups.
A nearly 3,400-acre logging plan southwest of Eugene remains halted after BLM dropped its appeal, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports October 30. The agency’s dismissal was granted October 19; two timber organizations also sought to dismiss their related appeal.
The separate timber-group dismissal was still awaiting court action in Lookout’s report. Whether BLM will abandon the project itself remains unanswered. The agency told Lookout it intends to proceed with other forest-management projects in the area.
