For someone seeking substance use treatment, medication, or support for a loved one.

Urgent safety: Possible overdose: give naloxone if available and call 911. Follow the device instructions and dispatcher guidance; stay with the person. If unconscious but breathing, place them on their side. Serious withdrawal symptoms need urgent medical assessment.

What to do first

  1. Tell intake what you use, when you last used, withdrawal symptoms, current medications, and whether you need detox or outpatient care. Ask whether a clinician can assess you today; a support group or outpatient office is not a detox bed.
  2. White Bird Chrysalis serves Lane County adults over 18: 541-683-1641, 350 E 11th Ave, Eugene. Complete the new-patient intake linked at whitebirdclinic.org/chrysalis-behavioral-health or ask staff for help. It offers outpatient care and medication treatment for opioid/alcohol use disorders.
  3. Chrysalis publishes OHP coverage and a self-pay option. Ask about your insurance, fees, intake timing, documents, and any medication or detox referral. Bring an insurance card and medication list if available; ask what to do if you lack ID.
  4. For Buckley medical detox screening, call Willamette Family at 541-762-4300. Ask about assessment, beds, insurance/cost and the assigned intake arrival location. Its website footer and embedded map show different addresses; neither is confirmed here as the detox entrance. Do not travel without intake instructions.
  5. If the first program has no opening, ask for a clinical referral, waitlist, peer support, and naloxone access. If insured, call the member-services number on your card for covered treatment providers.

If you cannot get help: For treatment referrals, use 211info.org or call 211 during weekday hours. For emotional crisis, call or text 988. Ask a clinician about withdrawal; do not assume a directory listing can manage it.
