Report wages and income changes while receiving SSI

Report monthly wages and other income changes to keep SSI payments accurate; a spouse’s income also matters when you live together.

Steps

3 steps
  1. Report wages by the sixthReport wages by the sixth day of the month after payment. Notify your local SSA office when you change jobs so you can keep reporting online.
  2. Choose a wage-reporting methodUse the online reporting link, SSA Mobile Wage Reporting App, or automated phone service at 866-772-0953.
  3. Report other income separatelyReport changes in self-employment and other income by the 10th of the following month. Annual self-employment income reporting is due January 10.
