Veneta has two council seats and an Aug. 18 filing deadline
The volunteer, at-large positions carry four-year terms; candidates must submit their declaration and signature sheets to the city by Tuesday.
Two seats on the Veneta City Council are open, and the candidate window closes Tuesday, Aug. 18. The positions are elected citywide, serve four-year terms beginning in January and are unpaid.
A candidate must be a registered Oregon voter and have lived in Veneta for the 12 months immediately before the Nov. 3 election. Declarations of candidacy and signature sheets are due to the city by Aug. 18. Candidate packets are available from City Hall and on the city's elections page.
