Overdose Awareness Walk fills Eugene's Park Blocks today
The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; its accessible walk begins at 11:30 a.m.
Eugene's third annual Overdose Awareness Walk takes over the downtown Park Blocks from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. The free event does not require registration.
An accessible walk of less than two miles begins at 11:30 a.m. Organizers expect more than 35 community organizations, along with overdose-reversal training, speakers, a memorial display, a drum circle and resource tables. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase.
People are invited to wear purple and may bring photos, letters or other items for the memorial. The event is at 820 Oak Street.
