Black Thistle’s Friday fundraiser backs street medicine and medical respite
The Eugene nonprofit says proceeds support health care, harm reduction and short-term recovery stays for people living unhoused.
Black Thistle Street Aid’s annual fundraiser begins at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Gratitude Brewing in Eugene. Tickets are $20, with no one turned away for lack of funds.
The nonprofit provides medical street outreach, wound care, harm-reduction supplies, a weekly pop-up clinic and medical respite. Co-director Sophia Ricci told Eugene Weekly that a respite hotel night costs about $120 once food, hygiene supplies and transportation are included. The fundraiser supports those programs as other services shrink.
The event location is public. Current is not reproducing outreach routes, client details or medical-respite locations.
