Party Bar lets diners choose the food price Wednesday
The downtown Eugene restaurant will serve its regular food menu without fixed food prices; drinks stay full price and seating is walk-in only.
Party Bar is trying an unusual rule for one day: diners decide what to pay for the food. The downtown Eugene restaurant at 55 W. Broadway is joining an international Pay What You Can Day on Wednesday, Aug. 26.
The regular food menu remains available, and the bill leaves space for diners to choose both the food and tip amounts. Drinks remain full price. Party Bar is not taking reservations that day, so the arrangement does not promise a seat or unlimited capacity.
The global initiative says participating restaurants keep normal service and shift only the payment model. Party Bar is the Oregon participant identified in the fresh local report; anyone making a special trip should recheck Wednesday service with the restaurant.
