Project Hope is ticket-only, and students need to bring theirs this weekend
Five local giveaways serve pre-selected K-12 students with shoes, socks, backpacks and supplies; Sunday is the remaining event day.
Project Hope's five giveaway sites are not general walk-in supply fairs. They serve pre-selected students from Bethel, Eugene 4J, Junction City and Springfield school districts, and the student's ticket points to the correct location.
The annual program distributes new athletic shoes and socks, a backpack filled with school supplies and other resources. Students must attend in person to receive shoes so volunteers can check the fit. A parent or guardian with a valid ticket may pick up a backpack and supplies if a student cannot attend, but the program does not distribute leftovers after the event.
Sunday, Aug. 30, is the remaining giveaway day. Families without a ticket or whose event is full should contact their school or district for other back-to-school resources instead of arriving at a different Project Hope site.
