Crow Road closes where the sewer main drops 30 feet
Work starts this week east of La Porte Drive, and La Porte access shifts to Greenhill Road while crews begin the deep utility extension.
Crow Road will close east of La Porte Drive to Highway 126 as Eugene begins the next stage of the West 11th Avenue and Crow Road utility extension. La Porte Drive remains open, but the city says drivers must reach it from Greenhill Road.
Crews plan to saw-cut Crow Road during the week of Aug. 31 and start excavation Wednesday near Crow Road and Highway 126. The wastewater main is close to 30 feet deep, which makes the work slower and more dangerous than a routine street cut. The larger project adds wastewater laterals and a water main while realigning the east Crow Road access.
