More than 250 Springfield caregivers now have a path to employee ownership
Rise & Shine converted to an employee stock ownership plan, with initial allocations for eligible full-time workers expected in 2027.
Springfield-based Rise & Shine Social Enterprise has become an employee stock ownership plan company, creating a long-term ownership path for more than 250 workers. KVAL reports that the deal closed in mid-August and was announced to employees Thursday.
Rise & Shine provides residential and day services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The local report says the agency supports more than 75 people across more than 20 locations. Its own public site confirms the Springfield base, 24-hour residential work and employee-centered mission.
The shares are not an immediate cash payout. KVAL reports that eligible full-time workers over 18 are expected to receive initial allocations in 2027 after an independent annual valuation, with shares held in a trust. The company says the model is intended to support caregiver retention; the report does not describe a change to current client services.
