Three free election events land in Eugene and Glenwood this week
A Senate District 6 forum and gubernatorial debate watch party run Thursday, followed by a Friday session with Lane County Clerk Tommy Gong on election security.
Three free public events put local voters in the room with candidates, a statewide debate and Lane County's top election official this week.
At noon Thursday, October 1, the Senate District 6 candidates are scheduled for a forum at Roaring Rapids Pizza in Glenwood. At 5:45 p.m., City Club of Eugene hosts a gubernatorial debate watch party at the Ford Alumni Center; the candidates will appear remotely on the debate feed, not at the watch party. Then at noon Friday, October 2, Lane County Clerk Tommy Gong speaks about election security at WOW Hall.
City Club says members and nonmembers may attend at no cost. The Friday event will also be livestreamed, giving people a useful fallback if noon at WOW Hall is not in the cards.
