& Juliet starts its Hult run with pop songs and a rewritten ending
The musical lets Shakespeare's heroine survive Romeo and build a second act around Max Martin hits. The official ticket grid runs October 7-11.

Juliet does not take the poison this time. In & Juliet, the heroine leaves the balcony plot behind and heads into a jukebox musical built from Max Martin songs, including “Since U Been Gone,” “Roar” and “Baby One More Time.” The touring production is now at the Hult Center's Silva Concert Hall.
Eugene Weekly's October 6 profile describes the show as one of the tour's final residencies before the Broadway production closes in January. Touring cast member Paul-Jordan Jansen said the familiar songs work because they move the story rather than simply waiting for applause. The rewrite also gives Juliet agency and makes room for May, a nonbinary character played on tour by Nico Ochoa.
The Hult Center's live ticket grid currently lists performances Wednesday through Sunday, October 7-11, starting at $44. Saturday evening includes American Sign Language interpretation, with designated seating sold through the venue. The Hult page and Eugene Weekly differed on whether a Tuesday performance belonged in the run; this edition uses the live remaining ticket grid.
