Cuthbert work brings a south-side box office and 50 parking spaces
Venue improvements also mean construction traffic on a road shared by walkers, runners and cyclists.
The Cuthbert’s box office is headed to the south side of the amphitheater as part of a $2.1 million project adding a 50-car parking lot and a paved route designed for ADA access into and around the venue. Lighting, fencing and utilities are also on the list.
The city schedules construction for late October through early spring 2027. KLCC’s October 28 report says the work is intended to finish before concert season.
The immediate consideration for park visitors is Day Island Road. The city says it will remain open, but construction vehicles will frequently use it. Walkers, bicyclists, runners and drivers should watch for equipment and one another.
UO is funding the project to compensate for parking displaced by its nearby football-facility development.
