SELCO plans a Numerica name change, not an immediate account change
The Springfield-based credit union says members can keep using their accounts as usual while a proposed merger moves through approval.
SELCO would take the Numerica name under a proposed merger with the Spokane Valley-based credit union, but members are not being asked to change their day-to-day banking now.
The proposed merger still needs regulatory approval and a vote by Numerica members. SELCO’s timeline targets an early-2028 legal combination, with systems integration to follow its own schedule.
The combined institution would operate under SELCO’s Oregon charter, with its headquarters remaining in Springfield. SELCO says there are no planned branch closures, relocations or staffing reductions because of the merger. Those are the institution’s plans, not a completed transition.
For now, SELCO says account and routing numbers, cards and checks remain the same. Its merger page will carry future milestones and account-access instructions.
Field notes
What changed: SELCO announced the proposed partnership Wednesday, October 28.
Why it matters: A familiar Lane County credit-union name would change, but the announcement does not mean members must immediately replace cards or move accounts.
Who may be affected: SELCO members and employees in Lane County and elsewhere.
