Florence weighs trail land with a 20-year upkeep obligation
The proposed transfer has no purchase price, but maintenance and closing costs remain.
Nearly six acres associated with the Siuslaw Estuary Trail could transfer to Florence without a purchase price, Coast Radio reports. The proposal would require the city to maintain the trail for at least 20 years and share closing costs.
Council consideration is still ahead, not a completed transfer. The city's meeting notice confirms Monday, November 2, at 5:30 p.m., with in-person attendance and remote viewing. The distinction matters: no purchase price does not mean no future expense.
