Springfield's craft swap has room for empty hands
Fabric, yarn, beads and paper can find another project at the library Saturday afternoon.
You do not need supplies to trade to take something home from Springfield Public Library’s Springstitch Craft Swap. The library explicitly welcomes people arriving without a donation.
The swap runs from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 7, in the Library Meeting Room. New and gently used materials can include fabric, yarn, fancy paper and beads. Participants can drop off what they bring and browse without staying for the whole session.
Materials left afterward will go to library programs and MECCA in Eugene. It is a useful destination for the supplies that have been waiting patiently for a second project.
Field notes
What changed: The library’s dated organizer listing confirms Saturday’s session, room and participation instructions.
Why it matters: The swap moves usable materials between makers without requiring everyone to bring an equivalent offering.
Who may be affected: Springfield-area crafters, beginners and people clearing out usable art supplies.
