UO graduate employees set a November 16 strike threshold
The union reports a strong authorization vote; another mediation session is scheduled Monday.
Graduate instructors, graders and research assistants at the University of Oregon could strike if no contract deal is reached by November 16, KLCC reported Saturday. That is a conditional notice, not an announcement that classes have stopped.
The Graduate Teaching Fellows Federation says 98% of participating voters supported a strike. The dispute includes salaries, health insurance and job security.
UO's November 6 bargaining update says the sides have tentative agreements on all non-economic articles and another mediation session scheduled for Monday, November 9.
