Tuesday, September 1, 2026 / Lane County and Eugene
Every transfer station closes Monday, but the airport does not
Lane County garbage sites, Eugene libraries, community centers and offices close Sept. 7; pools, parking and emergency services follow their own holiday rules.
Lane County's transfer-station map has a one-day blank spot: every county transfer station will be closed Monday, Sept. 7 for Labor Day. That includes Glenwood, Florence and the rural sites that would otherwise operate Mondays.
Eugene has a more mixed schedule. City offices, library locations, outside book returns, community centers and the spay-and-neuter clinic close. Echo Hollow Pool is closed Sept. 6 through 20 for maintenance, while Amazon and Sheldon pools run limited holiday schedules.
Most city-managed garages, surface lots and street meters are free that day, except the train-depot lot; posted Arena District limits still apply. Police, fire and medical response continue, and Eugene Airport remains open even though its administrative office closes. Regular city hours are expected Tuesday unless a facility says otherwise.
