Covered-bridge repairs can narrow two Cottage Grove approach roads
Flaggers may control one lane on Layng and Garoutte roads during stabilization work through December 31.
Currin and Stewart covered bridges are getting stabilization work, but the traffic effect is on the roads beside them. Lane County says one lane of Layng Road near Currin and one lane of Garoutte Road near Stewart may close at times, with flaggers controlling traffic. Both historic bridges have been closed to vehicles for years and remain closed to pedestrians.
Work can run Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. through December 31. To avoid the Currin area, approach Layng Road from Mosby Creek Road. To avoid the Stewart area, use Shoreview Drive to reach Garoutte Road. Leave time for flaggers if your normal route takes you past either work site.
