Seven early-learning programs receive boxes of classroom supplies

Seven Siuslaw-area preschool and child-care programs each received three large boxes of supplies from a September–October collection drive, Coast Radio reported November 6.

The materials included books, art supplies and learning tools. A report posted by Siuslaw Vision names the participating programs and says local businesses served as collection sites, from hardware and grocery stores to art-supply shops and the Florence Visitors Center.

The Siuslaw Vision Child Care Working Group organized the Back to School Fall Supply Drive, with sponsorship from Siuslaw Childcare Friends, the City of Florence and Siuslaw Vision. The reported result is classroom supplies delivered—not a change in child-care enrollment or available slots.
