Almost everything on LaneHelp works without signing in. Here is exactly what does and does not.

When to use it

Use it if you are deciding whether to sign up, or you are on a shared or borrowed device and want to stay signed out.

  • Checking shelter availability and housing leads.
  • Using the map, planning trips, and viewing live buses.
  • Asking Paddle questions on the website.
  • Texting LaneHelp — texting never uses a website account.
  • Reading alerts, events, cameras, and public lookups.
  • Printing handouts, building a Quick Sheet, and sharing links.
  • Reporting wrong information or suggesting a new resource.

Needs an account

  • Saving favorites and saved housing searches so they follow you across devices.
  • Getting housing update notifications tied to your saved items.
  • A public contributor profile and credit for your contributions.
  • Provider and organization tools, like updating your own listing.

Do I need an account to text LaneHelp?

No. Texting works from any phone that can send SMS. See Using LaneHelp by text.

Will LaneHelp track me if I browse without an account?
