Pick a time and narrow it down#

The page opens on the last 24 hours. Switch to Today, 7 days, 30 days, or Custom, which lets you choose your own dates, up to 180 days at a time. Search by call type, agency, or street.

The filters cover Call family (police, or fire and EMS), Agency, Community, and Public outcome. On a phone they sit behind the Filters button, and the charts are under Show patterns and stats. Each filter you add appears as a small tag. Tap a tag to drop that filter, or Clear all to start over.

What the numbers mean#

  • Public calls: the total for your time window, split into police and fire / EMS. Tap Police or Fire / EMS to filter.
  • Median dispatch delay: the typical time between a call being reported and a unit being sent. Only calls with both times count.
  • 90th percentile: nine in ten timed calls were dispatched this fast or faster.
  • Over 10 min to dispatch: timed calls that took longer than ten minutes to send a unit.
  • Community activity: totals by city, with one circle per community on the map. Circles sit at a community’s center, not where any call happened.

Dispatch delay isn’t the whole response time. It stops when a unit is sent, not when it arrives.

Open a single call#

Recent calls runs newest first, grouped by day. Open one to see its timeline (Reported, Dispatched, Arrived, Cleared), the agency, any public outcome, and View on map. A blank time means the source didn’t provide it. LaneHelp never fills it in with a guess or a zero.

Where the information comes from#

Sources and definitions, at the bottom, lists each feed, when it last updated, and whether it’s counted here (Monitored source) or only linked (Reference source). Police numbers come from the Springfield Police dispatch log, which is published about two hours late. Eugene Police’s log is currently linked as a reference rather than counted, so recent Eugene Police calls won’t show up here.

Is this live?
Close, but not quite. Each feed has its own lag, shown in its source card. Springfield Police calls arrive about two hours late.
Why don’t I see Eugene Police calls?
Eugene Police’s dispatch log is currently a reference source, so it’s linked rather than counted. Open its card under Sources and definitions to read it on the city’s site.
Does it show exact addresses?
Only the public location a source publishes, when it publishes one. The community map uses city centers, not call locations.
Why is a time or outcome blank?
The source didn’t provide it. Blank means unknown, not zero.
