- What it does
- A ranking of contributors by points earned for directory work, with the biggest points saved for work that passes review.
- Good for
- Learning how points work, or checking your own rank.
- You’ll need
- Nothing to browse. An account to earn points.
LaneHelp ranks work, not popularity. Points come from actions that make listings more accurate, and the biggest ones only land after a person reviews what you sent.
How points are earned#
| On the board | What it means | Points |
|---|---|---|
| Report an issue | Flag a problem with a listing | 2 |

| Evidence bonus | Back up that check, like with a call, a visit, or a link | +1 |
| Suggest an update | Send a correction to a listing | 3 |
| Submit a new resource | Add a place LaneHelp doesn’t list | 5 |
| Approved update bonus | Your correction passes review | +10 |
| Approved resource bonus | Your new resource passes review | +25 |
Stories and photos sent to The Current can earn points too, with more if editors use them.
Read the board#
Switch between This Week, This Month, and All Time. Rank follows points in the window you pick, while trust level and approval counts are lifetime. Signed in, you’ll see Your rank, or a note that you aren’t ranked in that window yet.
Your running total also shows as Score at the top of your account, next to your trust level, Weekly rank, and anything Awaiting review.
Ways to start#
- Report a problem — Flag a closed office or a wrong phone number.
- Fix a listing — Suggest corrected hours, contacts, or details.
- Add a missing place — Send in a service LaneHelp doesn’t list yet.
