Read the board#

Across the top, one line counts what is live right now and how serious it is. When it says No active alerts right now, that’s the best sentence on the page.

Below it, All active lists every current alert, most serious first. Beside it are the topics: County, Weather, Air Quality, Roads, Fire, Earthquakes, Water, Power, and Closures. A count on a topic means it has current alerts. Pick a topic to see only those.

What each alert tells you#

  • Severity: Emergency, Warning, Watch, Advisory, or Info, so you can tell a warning from a heads-up.
  • Timing: how long ago the source posted or updated it.
  • Area: the road, zone, or part of the county it covers.
  • Show location: opens the spot on the Map, when the alert has one.
  • Source: the official page it came from. When in doubt, that page wins.

A topic marked Delayed has a source that is running late or offline, so the newest information may be missing. The board refreshes itself every five minutes while it’s open.

Where to look#

  • There’s smoke or fire nearbyOpen Fire Watch, then the Fire topic here. Official evacuation orders come first.
  • You’re driving over a pass or to the coastCheck Road closures and Cameras, then confirm on TripCheck.
  • The power went outOpen the Power topic to see what the utilities report.

Fire Watch and road closures#

Fire Watch is a starting point for wildfire season. Its main button, Open Fire Watch on the map, opens the Map with fire, alert, and camera layers already on. It also links to Alerts, Cameras, Fire & Police calls, and TripCheck, Oregon’s official road site.

Road closures does the same for travel: Cameras for a quick look, Alerts for notices, and TripCheck for official road status. LaneHelp doesn’t control road data, so confirm with TripCheck or the agency before you drive.

Questions people ask

How fresh is this?
The header says when the board last updated, and each alert shows how long ago its source posted it. The page checks again every five minutes while it’s open.
What does Delayed mean on a topic?
One of that topic’s sources is running late or offline, so recent alerts may be missing. Check the source directly.
Is Fire Watch an official evacuation map?
No. It gathers wildfire context in one place. Official fire, county, and state sources decide evacuations.
